Erik is a sport dietitian who enjoys helping athletes and their coaches achieve their performance goals. The Coaches Association of Canada has identified him as a credible service provider in sport nutrition, and he has worked with able- bodied and para-athletes competing in CIS and NCAA varsity sports as well as provincial and national high performance sport programs.
He has been an accredited anthropometrist since 2010. In 2014, he completed the ISAK Level 3 (Instructor) accreditation course at the USA Olympic Training Centre in Chula Vista. He has managed a Level 1 course at Ottawa University; a combined Level 1 and 2 course at the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, Halifax; a Level 1 and re-accreditation course at the l’Institut National du Sport du Quebec, Montreal; a re-accreditation course at the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, Victoria and a Level 1 course at the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, Toronto.
In 2014, he was selected as co-chair of the Dietitians of Canada Sport Nutrition Network. In this role, he has organized educational events to support dietetic students and dietitians aspiring to work with the sporting community.
Erik's long term goal is to keep assisting athletes and coaches through evidence-based nutrition practices and through the development of practical nutrition support systems for enhancing athletic performance and health.
