Now Back from Singapore!!

Singapore hosted the first ever Summer Youth Olympic Games from August 14-26, 2010!! Canada was represented by a group of 60 athletes between the age of 14 and 18 years old and 30 Mission Team members and coaches. This event focused not only on performance but also transmitting the Olympic Values to the Youth in a multicultural context. During this event, 3600 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees and Countries met to experience the Olympic values during 26 Sports and Culture & Education Programs.
Local Sport Physiotherapist Christian Séguin, along with Sport Physiotherapist Dinah Hampson (Toronto) and Sport Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Dory Boyer (Vancouver), were selected as medical personnel by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC).
During this event, the medical team members shared sideline event assignment to optimize medical coverage of the sport events. Christian was responsible to cover the athletles during the Triathlon, Athletics, Judo, Diving and a day of Artistic Gymnastics.
